Beautifying Phoenix

Do want to help Phoenix stay as clean and attractive as possible? If so, the staff at Keep Phoenix Beautiful would love to hear from you.

The non-profit organization, which is a local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, began in 1982 and is funded by the city’s Public Works Department.

Executive Director Tom Waldeck said the group’s main goals involve helping community groups do clean-up jobs, providing educational programs within the Phoenix schools and expanding recycling services at local businesses.

Waldeck said people are welcome to contact the office for ideas or to volunteer.

“If you have 30 Boy Scouts ready to do a neighborhood clean-up, you can contact us for ideas,” he said. “We are partnering with the Parks Department, too, because there are a lot of projects there that need assistance.”
