Quick & green creative reuse!
With Christmas right around the corner, you may consider making something for your loved ones instead of buying something new. Luckily, Sarah from our education team worked with The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation earlier this year to talk about creative reuse crafting. These videos could make your Christmas shopping a little easier. Take a look and you may get inspired!
Sarah goes over a few simple reuse craft projects that can make your life easier and more beautiful! The first craft repurposes an old T-shirt. With some scissors and a sewing machine, in a few simple steps you can turn your old T-shirt into a reusable tote bag. You don’t have a sewing machine at home? Well, don’t worry because Sarah tells you how to create a T-shirt Tote Bag with no sewing machine needed.
In Sarah’s second craft project she creates a brush holder for her make-up brushes using an old candle container. She explains that with a little elbow grease you can clean out a candle container and use it to store anything you want or even just as a display vase.
For her final creative reuse project, Sarah spruces up an old, dated vase. Using water-based paint and baking soda she creates a mixture that looks similar to chalk paint. When applied and dried on the vase the paint makes the vase look more like a clay rather than glass. This is an easy way to update the look of your vases without buying something new.
